Happy 2025!

Welcome to my new email series. πŸ“©

Typesetting Together is your chance to get inside my brain and gain insights that will support you on your publishing journey.

"If you have knowledge, let others light their candle in it."

When I think about my values and the reason behind my business, I find myself reflecting on how much I enjoy supporting people within the writing/publishing community. This is what I aim to do and I hope you will stick around.

Talk soon!

PS: I started rewatching Schitt's Creek over the holidays and it's definitely one of my favorite sitcoms. πŸ˜‚

3 dreamy fiction book projects...

... I’ve had the honor to work on in 2024:

For book 2 in this Moons & Magic series, the author asked me to reuse the same page layout and formatting elements from book 1. This is a great way to make a series look consistent, reduce production timelines, and lower costs.

The author reached out looking for a standard page layout that would be clean and professional. I used the same fonts from the cover design in the chapter opening pages to tie the interior design to the cover.

I created a custom page layout for the first book in The Myths of the Northern Lands series – which features a lot of different sections and elements. By customizing it now, we’ve set the foundation for future volumes, which will reuse this layout as a template.

🎬 Behind the scenes

3 tasks I'm currently working on:

πŸ“– Cleaning up the manuscript of a memoir before starting the process of typesetting.

πŸ“– Implementing edits on a biography based on feedback from the author and proofreader.

πŸ—‚ Backing up all files from 2024.

⬇️ Tip:

Use my checklist "Preparing Your Manuscript for Typesetting" to make sure your manuscript is clean before starting formatting and page layout design.
